• This combination of a needle roller bearing with an angular contact ball bearing is a particularly space-saving design of a rolling bearing for taking heavy radial and light axial loads.
• The radial load is taken by the needle rollers. The axial load must not be more that 25% of the radial load.
• If the axial forces act in both directions, two single direction needle roller-angular contact ball bearings can be mounted so that they oppose each other, provided they are not too far apart.

• These double direction AHA needle roller-angular contact ball bearings can take heavy radial and light axial loads in both directions and they permit axial shaft location with an axial clearance of 0,08 to 0,25 mm.
• The axial load must not be more that 25% of the radial load for these bearings too. The inner ring is in two parts for easier assembly and it is not interchangeable. Both rings must be axially clamped together.

• AHA needle roller-axial ball bearings can take radial loads and medium axial loads in one direction. The space-saving design of these bearings allows very small shaft Centre distances (e.g.in multi-spindle boring or drilling units) the minimum value of which is the size of bearing outside diameter.
• The bearings can be supported to take axial loads by a snap ring in the groove provided in the outer ring, by a housing shoulder or by a snap ring in the housing bore.
• Series NX bearings should be used with oil lubrication; they have lubrication holes in the retaining cap. Series NX...Z bearings should, however, be used with grease lubrication; the retaining cap, in combination with the shaft locating washer, forms a gap seal.
• If two needle roller-axial ball bearings are mounted so that they oppose each other, then axial loads acting in both directions may be taken.
• It is recommended that the unloaded bearing is axially preloaded by additional springs.
• Spring preload allows for thermal expansion too and contributes to quiet running. For speeds of more than 0,2 nl oil, this preload should be 1% to 2% of the axial dynamic load rating C.
