AXK + 2AS / 81 series + GS WS washers

AHA axial bearings consist of axial cage assemblies with needle or cylindrical rollers and axial bearing washers.
The needle rollers and cylindrical rollers are retained and accurately guided in the axial cages.
When combined with the various series of AHA bearing washers, they offer a wide range of advantageous bearing arrangement.
By using high precision cylindrical rolling elements with long lines of contact, high load carrying capacity and high rigidity of the bearing arrangement are achieved whilst requiring only a small amount of space.
A particular advantage is that the washers can be dispensed with if the adjacent faces are suitable as raceways.
Extensive tests with AHA axial bearings have shown that, although rolling/sliding effects occur when cylindrical rolling elements run on a circular path, the coefficients of friction are quite good and are similar to those of other rolling bearing types.

The AHA axial needle roller and cage assembly is the basic component of axial needle roller bearings. The needle rollers are retained and guided in radially arranged pockets in the profiled, hardened steel strip cages. For smaller sizes, the cages are made from plastic.
The high accuracy of the needle rollers -the diameter sorting tolerance is 2 µm – ensures uniform load distribution. AHA axial needle roller and cage assemblies should preferably be guided on the shaft. This results in relatively low circumferential speeds at the guiding surface even at high speeds. If guidance on the shaft is not possible, axial needle roller and cage assemblies can also be guided on their outside surface.
Particularly space-saving bearing arrangements are achieved if the faces of the adjacent parts are designed as raceways so that washers can be dispensed with. If such a solution is not feasible, bearing arrangements with very low axial section height can be achieved with bearing washers of series AS providing, they are adequately supported. Combination with the thicker bearing washers of series LS, GS, WS and ZS are also possible for other installation conditions. The axial bearing washers AS, LS, GS, WS, and ZS which are suitable for AHA axial needle roller and cage assemblies must be ordered separately.

These bearings consist of one axial cylindrical roller and cage assembly, one housing locating washer GS and one shaft locating washer WS. Series 811 and 812 bearings are used when axial ball bearings of series 511 and 512 or axial needle roller bearings are not sufficient to support the high axial loads.
